The Junior League of Peoria is partnering with Threads, Hope & Love NFP, a Washington, IL based not for profit organization serving those in need or in crisis in the Washington area with clothing, necessities, and a special Christmas toy distribution event.  The mission of Threads, Hope & Love is “Opening our hearts and hands to clothe those in need and help those in crisis.” The annual Christmas toy giveaway is fast approaching and, with over 1,000 homes destroyed in their community the traditional donor and volunteer base of Washington residents are understandably focused on cleaning up, recovering and rebuilding. This is where the Junior League of Peoria is stepping in to help.

Through this partnership, JLP will help ensure a successful 2013 annual Christmas toy giveaway in the wake of the storm. Since the donors and volunteers in the community are in crisis mode, JLP will be supporting their event this year by soliciting, collecting and sorting new toys for children and delivering them to the Threads, Hope & Love facility.

Please help JLP in this effort by donating new toys! We would like to collect all new toy donations by December 10th in preparation for their event.  We have created registries at Amazon, Target and Toys “R” Us full of items needed for the toy giveaway and set up to ship directly to our sorting location.  Please see below for registry details and a list of ideas for donations.  Donations may also be directed to the headquarters of the Junior League of Peoria, the Ballance-Herschel House, located at 256 NE Randolph in Peoria. We are also accepting monetary donations for this cause online via the following link:http://www.freewebstore.org/junior-league-of-Peoria.  Questions?
