If your kids are into space exploration, there can be nothing more exciting than the upcoming landing of the new MARS moving science lab Curiosity. Curiosity is scheduled to land on MARS early Monday August 6th at 12:30 a.m. (CDT). This is a great chance for you kids to be part of history and witness the landing event of the largest rover sent to MARS yet.
As part of the promotions that NASA has been working on to increase the public awarness of the event and refuel the interest in the space programs, thier engineers have created a free XBOX Kinect game. The game lets you and your family members be Curiosity and experience the challenges and excitement of landing safely on the surface of MARS.
In the video shown below, Danielle Roosa, granddaughter of Apollo 14 astronaut Stuart Roosa, demonstrates NASA and Microsoft's free Kinect interactive Xbox video game, 'Mars Rover Landing.' The new game lets players try their skill at landing the Curiosity rover on Mars. The game is available free of charge in the Xbox Live Marketplace and Kinect Central.
Whether you download the game or not, make sure you take the time to share this once in a generation event with your kids. Please wish the best of luck to Curiosity as it ventures into its most challenging feat yet.
