Forest Park Nature Center

Are you looking for an outing to do with the kids indoors? Forest Park Nature Center offers several activities to keep the little ones busy. Kids will play, explore, and learn with real stuffed animals, discovery drawers, creature cages, books to read, and tons of room to run around. My son and I met with friends there for a playdate.

The playdate was all little boys, who loved the cockroaches and snakes in the cages. They pointed out all the stuffed birds throughout the center. The stuffed beaver fascinated them, but kinda grossed out the moms, especially the tail.

Save WTVP

My childhood included Sesame Street, Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood, and Reading Rainbow. My son’s childhood includes the same with practicing numbers on Sesame Street, and giggling with Calliou, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Curious George the Monkey. These children’s programs on WTVP are in danger of going off the air in Central Illinois. It would be a shame to lose these family shows.
