Little Farmers Camp June 8 or 15 Little Farmers Camp is for children 5 - 7 years old who love animals and being outdoors. Little Farmers Camp is offered the first three Fridays in June from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Camp activities include feeding and watering the ponies, petting the lambs, feeding the calves and hunting for chicken eggs. Cost: $5 per child Farm Camp June 21-22 or July 19-20 What better way to learn how to milk a cow, train a foal and make homemade butter than to come at 5:30 a.m. for Farm Camp. The two-day farm camp is for youth 8 years and older who want hands-on experience on a working dairy farm. Camp activities include: milking by hand and with a machine, learning the differences in feeds and proper animal nutrition, properly herding a flock of sheep, preparing bottles of milk for the calves, hunting for eggs, grooming and training the foals and all the mechanics behind a working farm. The first day of camp includes a home cooked meal and snacks. The second day of camp includes a nutritious home cooked egg and pancake breakfast, dinner and snacks. Farm Camp is held Thursday to Friday. Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (campers are welcome to come at 5 a.m.) on Friday. Campers are required to bring closed-toe shoes and/or boots, play clothes and an extra pair of clothes to wear home. Cost is: $175 Call or email for camp reservation forms. Vet Camp July 12-13 So you want to be a vet? Well, maybe some firsthand veterinarian experience is what you need. During the first day of Vet Camp you will learn how to diagnose cows, horses, sheep and pigs, safely catch and handle animals, listen to heart abnormalities, trim hooves, take temperatures and milk cows. The second day will be spent with local veterinarians as they make large and small animal calls. Must be 12 years or older and have a serious interest in animal health. Cost is $200 Reservations due one week prior before camp.
