Storytime events are available at several libraries and businesses. Storytimes encourage positive attitudes about books and reading. It’s a great time to share with your kids, and build their enthusiasm. Besides reading books, some storyhours include a craft or playtime afterward. Below is info on various storytimes:
Peoria Public Library offers several storytimes at their six branches. Peoria Public Library storytimes are posted on our calendar, or visit the library’s site.
Fondulac District Library, in East Peoria, has weekly storytimes for 12 months old to 5 year olds. Story hours are for 1-2 years old on Thursdays at 10am, for 2-3 years old on Tuesdays 10am, for 3-5 on Mondays at 10am, and 2-5 years old on Tuesday at 1pm .
Alpha Park Public Library, in Bartonville, has various story hours for ages 12 months to 8 years old.
Pekin Public Library has weekly storytimes on Mondays at 7pm and Tuesdays at 10am for ages 3 years and older. There is also a toddler time storytime starting in October.
Peoria Heights Public Library has a storytime for 1-2 year olds and for 3-5 year olds.
Borders has storytime every Tuesday at 10:15am for all ages.
Barnes and Noble has storytime every Monday at 10am for all ages.
Fired Up has storytime the first Saturday of each month at 10am for all ages.
Peoria Playhouse Junior usually has a monthly event with storytime and children’s activites at Grand Prairie Mall. Check their site for the schedule.
Not Your Average Joe, located at 208 N. Second in Dunlap, has storytime every Tuesday at 11am for all ages.
