• American Society of Civil Engineers Bridge Bust Competition: Bridge building contest for Middle School (Grades 6- 8). 1:30 – 4 p.m.
• Society of Women Engineers: Interactive experiments involving chemistry, aerodynamics, electromagnetism, potential energy, and designing an egg drop, exposing students to a variety of engineering careers.
• Caterpillar Inc.: Interactive displays, Cat machine matching game, color-andbuild-a-machine activity, interactive circuit game, information on engineering disciplines.
• FIRST LEGO League: Interactive demonstration of the robot challenges solved by teams of 9 to 14 year olds with LEGO Mindstorm kits for a tournament. Explanations of the FLL
competition and how to get involved in the season.
• Society of Automotive Engineers: Interactive experiments from their “World in Motion” program. Information on engineering careers.
• Farnsworth Group, Inc.: Interactive experiments incorporating a number of Engineering Fields. Engineering career information will be available.
• American Society of Materials Peoria Chapter (ASM-Peoria): Continuous demonstrations on material structures and properties, failure analysis, metal forming, magnetism and hot metal casting.
• Engineering Explorer Post: Experience what it’s like to be an engineer by doing a hands-on activity involving design and construction. Engineering Explorer Post introduces high school students to engineering careers and disciplines(http://www.engineeringexplorers.org).
• Heart of Illinois Chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Learn about water
filtration and make a mini sand filter.
• Central Illinois Robotics Club (CIRC): Compete head to head in a battle bot contest. Get exposed to the world of hobby robotics and the local club that leads the way.
