That’s why financial institutions, not-for-profits, schools, libraries and lots of others are joining together to help support financial education during Money Smart Week, April 21- 28. Money Smart Kids Read! on April 21 at 10am. It's never too early to learn about money! A special hour that will include a story, an age appropriate activity and take home items. Locations: Peoria Public Libraries- Main, North, Lincoln, & McClure Branches, Dunlap Public Library, Fondulac Library, Washington District Library, Alpha Park Library, Morton Public Library, & Wiley Library.
Money Smart Teenagers on April 21 at 2pm, or April 24 at 6pm. Teens think money grows on trees. This class teaches financial basics helping teens to organize and manage financial commitments and goals. Location: SWAN National Women’s Network on Pioneer Pkwy.
How to Raise Money Smart Kids on April 21 or 23 at 6pm. Class provides tools and techniques for parents and grandparents to talk to children age 4-12 about money. Help kids understand saving and spending. Location: SWAN National Women’s Network on Pioneer Pkwy.
A Woman's Guide to Money Matters on April 23 at 9:30am. This fast-paced session discusses preparing for retirement and paying for children's education from a woman's point of view. Location: Schnucks Community Room

College- Getting There from Here on April 23 or 26 at 5:30pm. Session discusses establishing a college saving goal, strategies to help achieve the goal, and the features and benefits of 529 savings plans. Location: Hyvee Club Room
Identity Theft Awareness and Document Shred Event on April 24 from 9am-12pm. Valuable information and materials on ways to protect your credit identity. Shred truck will be on-site to collect and destroy your private papers. Location: METEC Housing Counseling Resource Center
Supermarket Saavy on April 24 at 10am, 1:30pm. A guided supermarket tour of produce, health foods, meat and dairy. Learn to buy fresh produce and meat, read food labels and do comparative shopping. Location: Kroger on Wisconsin.
