Water Fun In The Tri-Counties

Splash in some water to beat the summer heat! Some of my mommy friends have been doing the rounds at the local water attractions. Below are some of the most popular.

  • Santa Fe Park's Splash Pad in Chillicothe is the newest water attraction in the area. Plus, the train engine playground nearby is a hit, too!
  • Harry La Hood Parkin Washington has an awesome water play area with sprayers, sprinklers, and fountains. It is one of my favorite summer spots.
  • Shore Acres Pool in Chillicothe is another favorite with several of my mommy friends.
  • Splashdown in East Peoria features a three-story treehouse, lazy river, tube slide, activity pool, and kiddie pool.  (Excited about the 2nd Burger Barge opening nearby Splashdown!)
  • Dragonland Water Parkin Pekin is one to check out.
  • The Gateway Fountain at the Peoria Riverfront is also a great area for splashing around
  • Lakeview Family Aquatic Center is a local favorite featuring a zero depth pool with play equipment, 2 giant water slides, and more.
  • Logan Water Playground features several colorful water displays and sprayers sure to cool you off during the dogs days of summer.
  • The local gyms also have their pools open to the public for a fee: Aqua Plex (in the Riverplex), the Clubs at River City, YMCA, and 5 Points in Washington.
  • Don't forget about the good old fashioned water hose and kiddie pool in the back yard!
