Fire up your kid’s passion for books this summer with these awesome summer reading programs! Also, continue to read to your kids no matter the age. They just want to spend time with you!
Peoria Public Library
- Read at least 3 hours per week. You may read anything you like. For help finding something to read ask your librarian.
- Participate to earn Chiefs tickets and zoo party pass. Details at the library
- Sign in once per week either in person or online.
- June 2 - July 21.
- See You At The Kick Off PARTY featuring the talents of Kinetic Artist Laura Ernst "Juggling Around the World" on June 8th at North & Lincoln Branches
Fondulac Public Library
- Kids age 2 through 8th Grade from June 3- July 31
- There is a “Read To Me” program for children who do not read.
- Fun includes story hours at the library and Fondulac Farm Park, reading incentives, programs, & crafts.
- All books for the program need be checked out from Fondulac Library.
- Participants report the number of books they have read to the librarian in the Children’s Department to earn prizes
- The final party will be on August 2 at SplashDown.
Barnes & Noble
- Read any 8 books and record them in the Reading Journal.
- Bring the completed Reading Journal to your local B&N store
- Choose a FREE BOOK from their selection on the Reading Journal list at the store... Enjoy reading

The West Peoria Library will be joining with the Peoria Park District at FRC this summer for their reading program. West Peoria residents do not have access to a library so this program suits their needs. Program is free, participants need to register at park district like any other program. It starts June 18th and runs until aug 6th.
