OCTOBER 1 DEADLINE. Kick off the fall season by entering Sommer Park’s Fall Peep ® Diorama Contest. Marshmallow Peeps ® aren’t just for Easter! Use the pumpkins, ghost & cats to make a diorama of a famous occurrence or scene depicting autumn or Halloween. It can be an historic or current event or a scene from a famous scary movie. All characters in the diorama must be played by Halloween Peeps®. Possible ideas include: “Silence of the Peeps®,” “Nightmare on Peep® Street” Dioramas will be judged by the public during Hayrides & Hotdogs every Thursday night in October.
Fondulac District Library announces Star Wars Reads Day, which celebrates reading and the stories of one of the most popular sagas of all time. The all- ages event will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Fondulac District Library in East Peoria. Activities and programs will run throughout the day and include a storytime, lightsaber labs, Jedi trainings, a costume derby, crafts, Wii and role-playing games, trivia and Wookieespeak contests, prize drawings, and more.
From the Proctor Hospital Website. Register by Thursday, September 27. This is a career education program designed for young adults age 14 (and have completed eighth grade) to 20. Proctor Hospital is pleased to host a Health Careers Exploring Post. The post has been organized in partnership with the local Learning for Life office of the WD Boyce Council. Through Health Careers Exploring, students are provided the opportunity to explore different areas within the hospital that few people get to see.
