The Lakeview Museum will officially close on September 1. The staff will be getting ready to open the new doors of the Peoria River Front Museum in October. This will be your last chance to play and learn at the Lakeview Museum.
From my kids and talking to other kids at Lakeview lately, the K’Nex exhibit is the best exhibit that Lakeview has ever had. We’ve studied the K’Nex roller coaster, ferris wheel, and thrill rides to see how different pieces are used and connected. My kids spend at least 2 hours building contraptions in the hands-on area. The younger kids may need help building things, but it is a great way to share time to imagine and create with them.
The Discovery center is always fun with the floating beach ball, dinosaur dig, pinwall, and more. While there, you may be able to help build the new pinwall for the RiverFront museum (near the K’nex building area).
If you didn’t see on our facebook page, we posted a pic of the 797 mining truck for the CAT Visitor Center (different from the Peoria RiverFront Museum). The pic is from Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. We look forward to both the Peoria River Front and the CAT Visitor Center in October, while it will be a sweet good-bye to the Lakeview Museum.
