What is the Backyard Talent Show for St. Jude?
The Backyard Talent Show for St. Jude is run by a group of four cousins: twin girls in Washington and sisters in Morton. Over the last three summers they have raised over $26,000! The 4th Annual BYTS for St. Jude will take place on Saturday, July 30th at Idlewood Park in Morton.
We are looking for talented individuals to STAR in the 4th Annual Backyard Talent Show to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!
All we need are your amazing skills! Do you:
* Dance * Tumble * Sing * Tell jokes * Perform magic tricks * Do animal tricks * Write poetry * Perform dramatic or comedy acts * Play an instrument * Have any other special talents???
If so, we need you to help us help the Kids of St. Jude! Here’s how it works:
1) Decide what talent you want to show off.
2) Fill out an entry form and return it to the BYTS crew no later than July 8th.
3) Set your fundraising goal and send letters to your friends and family inviting them to the show and/or asking them to support your participation in the Backyard Talent Show by making a donation to St. Jude.
4) Collect donations from your supporters, which you’ll turn in the night before the show at rehearsal.
5) Practice, practice, practice and let your star shine at the big show!
*The total minimum donation each participant is required to collect is $20.
Remember: All proceeds raised go directly to ST. JUDE!
The top three judges' picks will be recognized, and all participants will be eligible for the Grand Prize!
(Grand Prize winner will be selected by random drawing. Minimum value: $50!)
SHOW DATE: Saturday, July 30th at 6pm.
RAIN DATE: Sunday, July 31st at 6pm.
PLACE: Idlewood Park, Morton, Illinois
REHEARSAL: 6pm the Friday night before the show at the park.
Bring your lawn chairs for seating. There will not be an admission, but donations are appreciated! There will also be a bake sale and face painting and plenty of family fun. Please invite your family, friends and neighbors
for this wonderful event!
Note: There will be a sound system available for your use during the show. Any music
should be provided on CD to the sound technician at rehearsal the night before the show.
