LoudMommy is a support group for mothers of autistic, apraxic or non-verbal children. Our goal is to provide these unsung heroes with encouragement through blogging, discussions, fellowship and education. Also through fundraisers and donations, we want to purchase as many iPads loaded with communication applications for LoudMommies and their non-verbal child with the hope that it may help bridge the communication gap between a parent and their son or daughter. The iPad is an amazing tool that has helped many people communicate with their children and the fact the a family cannot afford one should not be a reason for them to not have an opportunity to talk with their child.

So on April 1st and April 2nd, LoudMommy is presenting their first fundraiser through Peoria Players Theater. All of the proceeds will be going towards helping non-verbal children “talk” with their families aside from a small donation going to the theater that is allowing us the time in their amazing building. We could not be more grateful for this opportunity.

We are also grateful for the astounding local talent that has stepped up to give you an outstanding show. Broadway favorites from gifted voices will make this a night to remember. April is Autism awareness month and April 2nd is “World Autism Awareness Day.” So lets band together, enjoy a night of fun and entertainment while your ticket donation goes towards a cause that is so incredible. We may take for granted hearing our children’s voice, but so many never get to hear their child say “I love you” and an iPad is the only chance they will get!
