I read "The Ultimate Weight Solution: The 7 Keys to Weight Loss Freedom" by Dr. Phil after my first child was born. With it, I was 5 lbs within my pre-pregnancy weight. I don't know if I have time to re-read it this time after baby #2. But here's some stuff I remember.
1. Get rid of all the snack foods in the house. But what about the hubby and kids' snacks. The book says to keep a place/cabinet designated for the hubby and kids snacks. This cabinet is off-limits to you. I've done this, and it's worked pretty well for me
2. Get rid of all your big clothes. If you have clothes that are bigger than your actual size, get rid of it. If it's not in your closet, then you can't wear it, and it will motivate you to lose weight....to move back to your smaller sizes. And if you gain weight, you have no clothes b/c you got rid of the bigger sizes...more motivation.
I got rid of my maternity pants, and some big shirts in my closet. i can fit into some smaller sizes, but don't like the way I look in them yet. so, I'm motivated to lose weight. Also, I've hung a pair of my favorite pre-pregnancy jeans in my closet...so, I can see it everyday as motivation.
3. The book says to set a specific goal...specific weight/fitness goal by specifc date. I want to be pre-pregnancy weight by child #2's first birthday. I also want to be jogging 5 miles by Jan 2009...halfway there.
That's all I remember from the book, but those are tips that I use. Read the book for additional tips. Let me know what you think of the tips listed above.
