Sledding and Winter Fun in Peoria

- Sledding weather!  It’s awesome weather for sledding! If your backyard isn’t great for sledding, check out these fun sledding areas. Detweiller Park near the Dogwood Shelter, is a nice, long, hilly favorite. According to some mommy friends, Laura Bradley Park has a small hill near the tennis courts, another near the playground, and an additional steeper one. McNaughton Park is another one in Pekin. A facebook fan also recommended Newman Golf Courser/Park in East Peoria.  Please read this link on sledding safety, and be courteous when waiting for your turn.
 
- See the animals frolic at Wildlife Prairie State Park or the Peoria Zoo.
 
- Do a winter, nature hike at Forest Park Nature Center. Do a compare & contrast from a summer & fall hike with your kids
 
- Be a tourist at the Peoria Riverfront Museum, Caterpillar Visitors Center, or the Children's Museum in Normal.
 
- Show your home team spirit with the Bradley Braves Basketball and Rivermen Hockey teams.
 
- Participate in your local libraries awesome story times and craft times. And, of course, read and check out great books!
 
 
- If you want to play indoors, burn energy at Monkey Joes and Rainbow Play Systems.
 
- Watch a movie matinee. It’s $4 at Landmark, and $5.50 at Willow Knolls.
 
- Sign up for fun lessons with your local park district.
 
- And of course, make snow angels and throw some snowballs.
